  Charles S. "Shorty" Saponsky Sr., 70, Oley, formerly of Boswell, died
  unexpectedly Feb. 5, 1988, at home of son.  Born Nov. 5, 1917, in
  Ralphton, son of Frank and Rose (Janeski) Saponsky.  Preceded in
  death by his parents; wife, former Josephine Kowalczyk, July 4, 1977;
  also brothers, Alex, John and Joseph.  Survived by son, Charles S.
  Jr., married to Suzanne Egolf, Oley; also two granddaughters, Leslie
  and Amy.  Brother of Frances, widow of George Leasure, Boswell. 
  Member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Boyertown; and U.S.W.A. 
  Was retired from Johnstown Works, Bethlehem Steel Corporation since
  1972.  Army veteran of World War II.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where Wake
  service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.  Mass of Christian Burial at
  10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Boswell, with the
  Rev. Father Alfred Evanoski, O.F.M. Conv.  Interment, Church Cemetery.
