Saponsky, 79, Somerset RD 7, died Jan. 30, 1988, at home. Born Sept. 20, 1908, in Jenners, son of Frank and Rose (Janeski) Saponsky. Preceded in death by parents, and brothers, Alex and John. Survived by his wife of 24 years, the former Irene Peterman, and these children: Mrs. Richard (Dolly) Ling, Stoystown; Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Keister, York; and Howard, Red Lion; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brother of: Mrs. Frances Leasure, Boswell; and Charles, of Oley, Pa. He was a retired coal miner and steel worker having retired from Bethlehem Steel Company. Member of Jenners Local U.M.W.A. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Somerset, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Odd-Fellow Cemetery in Stoystown. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
