Born June 13, 1929, in Listie. Preceded in death by parents, Edward H. and Jennie (Watkins) Sarver; two sisters Pearle Foust and Luella M. Kimmel; and five brothers, Glenn, Russell, Howard, Robert and George Sarver. Survived by his wife, former Johanna Mayak, whom he married on July 11, 1954; and these children, Kathy Leese and Donald E. Sarver, both of Chambersburg; two granddaughters, Jennifer Sarver of Greencastle; and Ashley Belin of Edenville; three sisters, Theda Bertoldi of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Elsie Ankeny of Somerset; Louise Speelman of Friedens; and one brother, Guy D. Sarver of Friedens. From 1961 to 1965 he worked at the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Brooklyn, N.Y. Upon its closing he transferred to Letterkenny Army Depot, where he worked until his retirement in January 1988. He retired as a supervisor of Depot facilities in charge of roads and grounds. Since his retirement he has been employed by Oliver Oil Co. as a part-time cashier at their Wayne Avenue facility. Navy veteran of Korean War, serving from 1948-52. He attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. Member of the Landis McLeaf Marine Corp League in Chambersburg, where he was a lifetime member and the American Legion in Greencastle. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc., 6492 L.W.W., St. Thomas, Pa., with the Rev. Daniel Lawler officiating. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The door is open from 2 to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends. Internment, Corpus Christi Cemetery.
