Born Dec. 20, 1922, in Bard, Harrison Township, Bedford County, she is a daughter of the late Walter Holler and Edna (Burkett) Holler-Caton. She was also preceded in death by husbands Luther Chaney and Robert H. Sarver; stepfather Harry Caton; sister, Katheryn "Kate" Ferguson; and stepson, Robert Sarver. Surviving are sons, Eugene W. "Gene" Chaney and special friend, Margie, Bedford; William J. "Bill" Chaney and wife, Brenda, Green Spring, W.Va.; and Daryl L. Sarver and wife, Ayren, Altoona; daughters, Pauline M. "Polly" Long, Mentor, Ohio; Ruth E. Close, Hyndman; Violet M. Thomas and husband, Gerald, Hyndman; and Darlene K. Twigg and husband, Bob, Cumberland, Md.; special friend, Vernon Emerick, Comps; stepchildren John, Alfred and Philip Sarver, Mary Ann Hillegass and Martha Sarver; 10 brothers and sisters; 23 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Dry Ridge United Methodist Church, Buffalo Mills. She belonged to the New Baltimore Sportsmen's Club. For the past 10 years, her greatest pleasure has been singing karaoke in the company of friends, family and acquaintances. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, where a funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Loyal Kelso officiating. Interment will be in Dry Ridge Cemetery, Buffalo Mills.
