"Punk" Sarver Sr., 74, of Markleysburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in his home in Eustis, Fla. He was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Ohiopyle, son of the late Artie N. and Georgia M. (Felton) Sarver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by these brothers and sisters: Daisy Sarver, Verna Miglets, Hazel Morrison, Merle, Edison, Victor and Artie Jr. He is survived by his wife Thelma I. Shipley Sarver; children Howard B. Sarver of Markleysburg, Clifford I. Sarver and wife Roberta of Columbus, Ohio, Ronald N. Sarver and wife Barbara of Markleysburg, Danny and fiancee Carol of Markleysburg, Terry Sarver of Bradenton, Fla., Debbie Fortner and husband Brooks of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Brenda Nicholson and husband Louis of Mill Run, Patrick Sarver and wife Renee of Markleysburg and Lisa Sarver of Markleysburg; 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brother of Ruth DeVanney of Chalk Hill and Caroline Shell of Rogers, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran, member of AMVETS Post 103 and the Confluence VFW. He was retired from Utility Forestry Service Inc. as a heavy equipment operator. Friends will be received in the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home in Farmington from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 until 11 a.m. Thursday, the hour of service, with the Rev. Clifford L. Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in Sansom Chapel Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103. Arrangements are under the direction of Rodney S. Turner Funeral Home.
