Sarver, 79, Friedens RD 1, died March 6, 1996, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born May 5, 1916, in Berlin, son of the late Oliver M. and Cleo V. (Weigle) Sarver. Also preceded in death by brothers: Floyd W., Russell S., Clyde T., and Earnest D. Survived by wife, Lila McLaughlin, and these brothers and sisters: Dalton, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Milton, McKeesport; Donald E., Baden; Mrs. Joseph Messina and Mrs. William Mapes, both of Somerset; Rosella M. Shumaker, Lakeland, Fla., and brother-in-law, Paul "Mack" McLaughlin, Pittsburgh. Veteran of U.S. Navy; served in shore patrol. Member of Somerset VFW Post 554. Retired tunnel guard on the Pa. Turnpike. Republican Presidential Task Force. Retired U.S. Marshal. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Friday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Dr. C.J. Ickes officiating.
