Savage, 74, of Grantsville, Md., died Monday, Oct. 26, 1987, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born Dec. 16, 1912, in McHenry, Md., son of the late Nora (Savage) Kurtz. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a farmer. He was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, the Garrett County Farm Bureau, and Woodmen of the World Camp 49. Surviving are his widow, Mary G. (Bittinger) Savage, and one half-brother, John Kurtz, Friendsville, Md. Friends were received in the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. Services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren by the Rev. James Show and the Rev. Connell Chaney officiating. Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.
