Savage died at his home in Dunbar, Pa., on Sunday, Dec. 28, after suffering two and a half months from cancer of the stomach. He was aged 64 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was a son of Jerry Savage and his wife, Mary, who preceded him to the grave. When 37 years of age he married Miss Lillie Selby of Friendsville. To this union four children were born - Foster, Eugene, Alvin and Pearl - who, with their mother, survive. Four brothers and two sisters also survive - Wesley of Sand Spring, Md.; David and Frank, of Friendsville, Phoebie Collins of Crellin, Md., Silas F. Savage of Somerfield, Pa., and Mae Stein of Meyersdale. He was a sincere Christian having joined the Methodist Church some years ago. He was a devoted husband and father, a kind neighbor and a true friend and will be missed in his community and home. Funeral services were held in the Bloomingrose Church, Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 31, at 2 o'clock; interment in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1931
