He was born April 23, 1914, in Scranton, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Krupper) Sawzik; two daughters, Dr. Christine (Sawzik) Langton of Aiken, S.C., and Dr. Patricia Sawzik of Pittsburgh; one sister, Alga Rowan, Somerset RD 2. He was a veteran of World War II; served in 719th Coast Artillery in Panama, and was a staff sergeant in Company C, 353rd Infantry, 89th Division, in Central Europe. Member of S.S. Crouse Post 181, American Legion, Somerset, and Johnstown Local 1419, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Somerset Hospice or Mary S.
