Saylor, 83, Ligonier Pike, Johnstown, died Feb. 19, 2007, at home. Born June 3, 1923, in Johnstown, son of Harvey and Anna Saylor. Preceded in death by parents, four brothers and a sister, and wife, the former Audrey F. Barrett, who died March 9, 2004. Survived by children, D. Glenn Jr., married to the former Carol Steffey, Somerset; Gale M. Jacobs and special friend, David Wilmore, Johnstown; three grandchildren, Jason Gary and wife, Melissa Saylor; Mandie Jo, married to Chris Acey; and Robert Van Jacobs III; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Rebekah, Noah Michael and Sarah McKenzie Saylor, and Samantha Leighann Acey; and sister, Audrey Clair Hager, Hughesville. He was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church. He retired with 46 years of service at the axle plant of Bethlehem Steel Corp. He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was member of the Steelworkers Union and the National Rifle Association. There will be no viewing, but friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville. The Rev. Dennis Zimmerman officiating.
