Saylor of Berlin, R.D. 2, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 4, at his home after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 19, 1902, in Meyersdale, the son of Norman and Frances (Barmoy) Saylor. He is survived by his father, his wife, Leora E. Knepper Saylor, and these children: Glenn E., Alvin N., James L., Doloris J., and Ivalene S. Saylor. One son, Gerald, preceded him in death. Also surviving are these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Mabel Waltermyer, Mrs. Mona Wilson, Miss Charlotte Saylor, Homer and Jonas Saylor, all of York; Mrs. Bernice Speicher, Somerset R.D. Three sisters preceded him in death, Mrs. Evaline Will, Elsie and Nevada Saylor. Mr. Saylor was a progressive farmer and was active in church work in the Brotherton Church of the Brethren being ????? Keystone Bible Class. He will be greatly missed in the community in which he lived a useful life. Funeral services were held in his late home Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. H. Austin Cooper officiating. Interment in the Brotherton Cemetery in charge of Johnson and Son. Meyersdale Republican, November 13, 1947
