Born June 8, 1919, in Lincoln Township, the daughter of Wilson Henry and Mayme Catherine (Gardner) Hoffman. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry C. Saylor, who died March 21, 1980; children, Donna Leazier, Robert and Richard Saylor; brothers, Nelson, Ray, Clark and Paul Hoffman; sisters, infant Sara, Blanche Hershberger, Vida Heiple, Marie Kuhlman and Ruby Metzgar. Survived by children, Clifford Saylor, married to the former Loretta Wegley, Confluence; and Mrs. Bernard F. (Carol Jean) Friedman, Boswell; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren; and brother Floyd Hoffman, Silver City, N.M. A member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, where she was very involved. Also retired from Bethlehem Steel General Offices, where she worked as a cook. Ethel also enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Aside from her full-time job, she fashioned Sarah Coventry Jewelry for over 20 years, where she made many friends. She also was a member of WELCA. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church, where service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset.
