Saylor, 63, of Finleyville, Pa., formerly of Somerset, died Jan. 1, 1996. Born June 26, 1932, in Somerset, a son of the late Earl B. Saylor and Leora E. (Knepper) Saylor Walker. Husband of Joyce L. Saylor. Father of Laurie, wife of David R. Baltzer, of Strasburg, Pa.; Kristie L. Parish, of Berlin; Erica, wife of Stephen Diethorn, of Bethel Park, Pa.; James L. Jr., husband of Peggy, of Pittsburgh; Gerald M., husband of Karen, of Library, Pa.; Kathy, wife of Joe Carson, of Brandon, Fla.; Deborah Wilson, of Bethel Park, Pa.; and Cheri, wife of Bobby Sims, of Houston, Texas. Brother of Glenn E. Saylor of Sarasota, Fla.; Alvin N. Saylor of Dunwoody, Ga., and I. Fae, wife of Robert E. Foust of Somerset. Nineteen grandchildren, one great-grandson. Preceded in death by sister, Jane Bauermaster, and brother, Jerald W. Saylor. He was graduated from Somerset High School in 1950, attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster for one year, where he was a drummer in the band. Married Mary Louise Myers in 1951 and had five children. Married Joyce McCurdy in June of 1983. He most recently was a school bus driver for South Park Township for 13 years. Member of A.S.A. as a referee and also a basketball and football official for P.I.A.A. Member of the Cannonsburg Eagles, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Choir and West Elizabeth Methodist Church Choir. Friends were received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood, Pa. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 8:30.
