Born Jan. 21, 1885, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of Jacob and Catherine (Thomas) Saylor. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Fannie Blough, who died March 21, 1973; daughters: Emma and Edith; and sons: James and Freeman; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers. Survived by these children: daughter-in-law, Melicent Buckwalter, widow of Freeman Saylor, Laverne, Calif.; Miss Ella Saylor, Reading; Robert, married to Viola Zimmerman, Somerset; Edna, widow of Russell Yoder, Davidsville; Paul, married to Betty Kauffman, Johnstown RD 5; son-in-law, Henry Sala, Somerset RD; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Member of the Blough Mennonite Church, last surviving member of the Jacob Saylor family. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville. Remains will be removed to the Blough Mennonite Church to lie in state from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev.
