Railroad cut north of Meyersdale borough last Wednesday about 10:30 p.m. were held at the Saylor home, 214 Olinger St., Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with his pastor, Rev. H. K. Hilner, officiating. A native of Meyersdale, Mr. Saylor was born Nov. 10, 1893, a son of Howard and Kathryn (Bittner) Saylor. He is survived by his wife, the former Verna Bittner, a son, Harold Richard Saylor of Baltimore, his father and one sister, Mrs. Viola Olin, both of Meyersdale. Mr. Saylor, who was employed as hostler on the B. & O. R.R., was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen No. 302, the Modern Woodmen of America, and the local Lutheran Church. At the time of his death, he was aged 53 years, 10 months and 3 days. Interment was made in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, August 21, 1947
