She was the widow of Harvey Saylor who died Jan. 18, 1933. A daughter of John W. and Emma (Mimma) Pyle, she was born in 1865 in the historic stone house on Little Meadows farm, near Grantsville, Md. Mr. and Mrs. Saylor were married in 1888 and spent all their married life in Meyersdale, building their own home on Broadway in 1900. She and her husband were always active members of Amity Reformed Church. Mrs. Saylor at the time of her death was one of the three oldest in membership of Amity congregation, having joined the church by confirmation in her youth. She leaves one son, Albert C. Saylor, and three daughters, Mrs. Maud Glessner, Mrs. Jessica Robertson and Miss Marion Saylor, all of Meyersdale. She is also survived by three sisters and four brothers - Mrs. Jeanette Ley, Canton, O.; Mrs. Elsie LaRue, Meyersdale R.D.; Mrs. Eva Lowery, Johnstown; Henry Pyle, Boswell; Howard Pyle, Canton, O.; Charles Pyle, Boynton; and Bert Pyle, Morgantown, W.Va., also by three grandsons, two of whom - Pfc. Charles Glessner, and Petty Officer Albert Glessner - are in the armed forces of the United States, and two granddaughters. Besides the two grandsons serving in the Army and Navy, she leaves also not less than 35 nephews who are also serving in the armed forces of the U.S. Funeral services will be conducted in her home at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, by her pastor, Rev. Nelson C. Brown. W. C. Price and Son are in charge of funeral arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, September 21, 1944
