Saylor, 75, of Rockwood RD 2, died April 18, 1990 in his residence. Born Dec. 29, 1914 in Middlecreek Township, son of the late M.A. and Faye (Wingett) Saylor. Survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Ruth Knepper; two sons, Clarence Nelson, married to the former Connie Flickinger, and Roger Jay, married to the former Donna Burkett, both of Rockwood RD 3; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Maynard of Rockwood RD 3. A member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon. Middlecreek Township supervisor for many years. Was a school board member of Middlecreek and Upper Turkeyfoot Township which later merged in to the Rockwood Area School District. Member of the Kingwood Grange, and a retired farmer. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice Program of Somerset Hospital or the Geiger Church of the Brethren. Kingwood Grange will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Daily American, April 19, 1990 [S0307]
