Saylor, 53, who resided in Wittenberg, Larimer Township, died on Tuesday, July 1, at 5:30 p.m. in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, 10 minutes after being admitted. Dr. H. V. Deming, Allegany County deputy medical examiner, said death resulted from a heart attack. Born in Glencoe, Mr. Saylor was a son of the late Albert and Sylvia (Crosby) Saylor, and a painter by trade. He was in ill health during the last year of his life. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Kendall Saylor; eight children - Mrs. Joseph F. Livengood, Somerset; Mrs. James Hauger, Berlin; Miss Mary Saylor, Akron, O.; James W. Saylor, Cumberland, and Raymond, Jean, Regina and Dorothea, all at home - two brothers, Oscar Saylor, Akron, O., and Loyal Saylor, Meyersdale; one sister, Mrs. B. F. Sperry, also of Meyersdale; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m., in the White Oak Temple Evangelical Church, with Rev. Emory Mankamyer of Pittsburgh, an Evangelical minister, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, under the direction of mortician H. R. Konhaus. The body is lying in state at the Saylor home in Wittenberg, where friends may call. Meyersdale Republican, July 3, 1947
