SAYLOR Word was received here this week of the death of William H. Saylor of San Francisco, Calif., on May 10, 1942. Mr. Saylor was born here May 7, 1870, the son of William and Catherine (Phillippi) Saylor, and spent his boyhood on the family home farm on "Saylor Hill". He taught several terms of school in Summit Township, attended Pennsylvania State College, and later went to California as a dairy inspector. Making his home in the West, Mr. Saylor made a successful career for himself as the editor of a dairymen's publication. By his will probated in San Francisco last week he left the greater part of his estate, estimated at $75,000, to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco. He was prominent in Masonic circles in that city. Since retiring from business several years ago, he made his home in Berkeley, Calif. Wm. H. Saylor is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. R. Ebaugh of Meyersdale, and these brothers: John Oliver, Carleton, Nebr., Simon Peter, Waterloo, Ia., Elias Newton and Joseph Edward, of Meyersdale, and Martin Homer of Oakland, Calif. One brother, Urias Milton Saylor, preceded him in death. Meyersdale Republican, May 28, 1942
