Schade, 88, of Patriot Manor, Somerset, died June 9, 1998, at the manor. Born June 21, 1909, in Pittsburgh, son of the late George F. and Lulu (Elder) Schade. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Thomas and Ernest Schade, and first fire, Kate Elizabeth Schade. Survived by second wife, Ruth Findley Schade; children: Jon Christopher Schade, married to the former Hyon Bok of Seoul, South Korea, and Kate Allison Schade of Goshen, Ind.; step-children, Thomas Y. Findley, married to the former Laura Murray, Somerset, and Mary Sue Foor, married to John M. Foor of Berlin. Also survived by sister, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Slater of Gibsonia; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graduate of Penn State University. Navy veteran of World War II. Formerly employed by Neilan Engineers and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a landscape architect. Also served as landscape architect during the layout and construction of Laurel Hill State Park. No visitation or viewing at the request of Mr. Schade. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset, Rev. Keith Fink officiating. Interment, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Arrangements under the direction of Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Children's Aid Home.
