  SCHAEFER
  
    Mrs. Bertha A. Schaefer, 86, formerly of Grantsville, Md., died
  June 6, 1979 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wilma Newberry,
  Timonium, Md.
    Born in Confluence, she was a daughter of the late Charles O. and
  Arminta (Brenneman) Reckner.  Her husband, Martin W. Schaefer,
  preceded her in death.
    Also surviving are another daughter, Mrs. Mary McKenzie,
  Grantsville; three sisters, Miss Grace Reckner, Uniontown; Mrs. Ida
  Bowlin, Confluence, and Mrs. Effie Sluss, Baltimore, Md.; six
  grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home.
    Service was conducted at Christ Lutheran Church, where she was a
  member with the Rev. David Fetter officiating.  Interment,
  Grantsville Cemetery.
