  MELVIN C. SCHAFER
  
    Melvin C. Schafer, 66, of Rockwood, died Aug. 11, 1980, at his home.
    He was born July 29, 1914, in Summit Twp., a son of Charles and
  Lucinda (Sanner) Schafer.  He is survived by his wife, Verdena
  (Burkholder) Schafer of Rockwood; three sons: Charles of Somerset;
  Terry of Garrett; and Tom of Rockwood; three brothers: Irvin of
  Meyersdale; Oscar and Webster, both of Garrett RD 1; two sisters,
  Mrs. Melda Paul, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Althea Panik, of Rockwood; six
  grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant
  son, and a sister, Viola.
    Friends were received at the William J. Wood Funeral Home,
  Rockwood, where services were conducted with the Rev. Clarence C.
  Moore officiating.  Interment, Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
