  GORDON SCHARDT
  
    Gordon E. Schardt, 62, of Meyersdale, died November 1, 1994 at his
  home.
    Born Oct. 2, 1932 in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Herbert
  and Viola (Putman) Schardt.  He was also preceded in death by a
  sister, Verda Musser, wife of William Musser.
    He is survived by his wife Esther and these children: Douglas,
  married to Laura Wellington; Barbara, married to William Shaffer;
  Richard, married to Susan Dunmeyer; Teresa, married to Philip Reich;
  and Daniel.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Justin and
  Christopher Schardt; Adam, April and Aaron Shaffer; Hollie and Derek
  Schardt; Crystal and Tyler Reich; and his mother-in-law, Mary Jane
  Reese.
    He was a brother of James, married to Edna Klink; William, married
  to the late Virginia Bender, Glen Burnie, Md.; Bernice, married to
  John Zimmerman; Audrey, married to R. Dean Hillegas; and Shirley,
  married to Oney Newman.  He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews.
    He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War.  He was a member of
  the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church.
    Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.
  2, at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be held at
  11 a.m. Thursday (today), with Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. 
  Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
