Schardt passed away at his home on Keystone St., on Saturday morning, from a heart attack. Mr. Schardt, a son of the late John and Catharine Schardt, was born January 21, 1887, and was aged 61 years and 17 days at the time of his death. In 1935, they bought their present home on Keystone St. where they have resided ever since. Mr. Schardt was a deaf mute and in the last few years, his eye-sight also failed him, making his lot in life a most pathetic one. His wife, also a deaf mute, has been his constant companion and guide. Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the W. C. Price funeral home, by Rev. Floyd Gotjen, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interment was in Union Cemetery. Mr. Schardt is survived by his aged mother, his wife, and the following brothers and sisters - Jean, living in Colorado; Julia, living in Florida; Dolly, living in New York; Mayme of McKeesport, Pa., and John and Herbert of Meyersdale.
