"Betty" Scharf, 76, of Somerset, died March 4, 1993, at Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate. Born Nov. 18, 1916, in Oak Park, Ill., daughter of the late George and Nora Louise Bills. Also preceded in death by husband, John Bishop Scharf, and a brother, Charles Bills. Survived by these children: Miss Jean Bills Scharf of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; John Bills Scharf of El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. Timothy (Nora Elizabeth) Smith of Madison, Conn.; also four grandchildren. Sister of George "Duke" Bills of Hawaii. 1941 graduate of Franklin College, Franklin, Ind., and had attended Purdue University. Retired physical education teacher from Somerset Area Senior High School, retiring in January 1980. Member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church and Trinity Chapter 138, Order of Eastern Star. Volunteer for Meals on Wheels and American Cancer Society. No viewing or visitation. Her body has been donated for research to the University of Pittsburgh Medical School.
