Born Jan. 23, 1934 in Hancock, Md., son of Jacob Leroy and Grace (Bishop) Schetrompf. Preceded in death by parents, and a brother James. Survived by his wife of 34 years the former Patricia Durnell; brother, John of Hagerstown, Md.; sisters, Rosetta Hermerath, Glendale, Ariz.; Darlene King, Connellsville, and Linda Forster, Beaver. Brothers-in-law: James Miller and wife Roberta, Connellsville, and Richard Bantz and wife Betty, Berlin. Niece and nephew Russell Miller and Paula (Miller) Hileman, and several other nieces and nephews. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Retired conductor with CSX Railroad, 32nd degree member of Meyersdale Lodge 554 F. & A.M. and Harrisburg Consistory. Member of Berlin American Legion Home Association. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Glenn P. Foster officiating.
