Schiffhauer, 87, Hooversville, died March 24, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 29, 1909, in Arrow, Somerset County, daughter of Robert P. and Amanda J. (Penrod) Crissey. Preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters: Irvin J., Harold R. and Marion L. Crissey and Mildred L. Miller. Last surviving member of the R.P. Crissey family. Survived by husband of 56 years, Lester L. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Hooversville for 14 years, Shade-Central City for 14 years and was a principal at Shanksville-Stonycreek for 14 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and junior choir director for many years. Member of O.E.S. and Decapolis Shrine, both of Johnstown; A.A.R.P., N.R.T.A., Pa. Assoc. of School Retirees, Pa. Public School Retirees. Life member of N.E.A. She was the first member in Somerset Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Charter member and first president of the Alpha Delta Chapter. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where Alpha Delta Chapter memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gerald Myers officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville.
