Schilling, 65, of Somerset died July 10, 1999 at Somerset Hospital. Born June 14, 1934 in Somerset Township, son of Herman William and Margaret Grace (Fluck) Schilling. Preceded in death by parents, infant son John Michael Schilling, who died March 8, 1976; brother, Edward A. Lincoln, and sisters Evelyn Bittner and Alda Dunmyer. Survived by wife, the former Betty Jean Hay to whom he was married 44 years, and daughter Mrs. James F. (Leeann) Shupe of Kent, Ohio. Brother of Mrs. Betty Lewis of Somerset; Herman W. Schilling Jr. of Somerset and Donald R. Schilling of Somerset. A 1952 graduate of Somerset High School, veteran U.S. Army Lebanon Crisis 1957-1959, and mine clerk for the former Lion Mining Co., retiring in 1997. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Somerset Christian Fellowship, Somerset, with the Rev. William J. Dodson officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
