  ELSIE V. SCHMIDT
  
    Elsie Virginia Schmidt, 71, of RD 1, Grantsville, Md., died
  Thursday, Dec. 29, 1988, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born Feb. 19, 1917, in Accident, Md., she was the daughter of the
  late Robert E. and Lucinda A. (Keim) Kolbfleisch. 
    She was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church.
    Surviving are her husband, Russell A. Schmidt; six sons, Harold R.
  Schmidt and John A. Schmidt, both of Accident, Md.; Walter L.
  Schmidt, Perry, Fla.; Carl E. Schmidt, Friendsville, Md.; and Donald
  D. Schmidt and Rex A. Schmidt, both of Grantsville, Md.; three
  daughters, Ruth A. Gardner, Woodridge, Va.; Hazel E. Tweedale, Falls
  Church, Va.; and Betty L. Schmidt, Grantsville, Md.; one brother,
  Glenn Kolbfleisch, Damascus, Md.; 21 grandchildren, and four
  great-grandchildren.  Friends were received at the Newman Funeral
  Home where services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev.
  Joseph Upole.  Interment, in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Accident,
  Md.
