Schmidt, 59, of Somerset RD 3, died July 20, 1976 in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1916, in Johnstown, a son of Lillian (Fetterman) Gibson of Somerset. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur C. Schmidt; a step-father, Isaac C. Gibson; by his first wife, the former Irene Brown. Survived by his mother; wife, the former Freda Haynes Frank; three brothers, Ronald Schmidt, Muncie, Ind.; Melvin Gibson, Port St. Lucy, Fla.; Ermyl Gibson, Jennerstown. He was a veteran of World War II, former employe [sic] of Retool Heating Co., Detroit, Mich. Friends are being received in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Chauncey Ickes officiating. Additional services Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Harper Mulligan Funeral Home, Highland, Mich., where friends will be received from 4-9 p.m. Sunday. Interment, White Chapel Memorial Park, Troy, Mich.
