  Frederick R. Schmitt, 92, Somerset, formerly of Palisades Park, N.J., passed on
  June 8, 2005, at the Mallard House. Born Sept. 9, 1912, in Guttenberg, N.J. he
  is the son of the late George and Elizabeth Schmitt. He is preceded in death by
  his parents, wife Elsie in 1990, daughter Elizabeth Tussi, son Frederick Schmitt
  Sr., and sister Hilda Weltner. He is survived by seven grandchildren and eight
  great-grandchildren. He was a retired engineer for the engineering company
  Burns and Roe of New Jersey. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America where
  he served as a commissioner for the Bergen County Boy Scouts in New Jersey. He
  was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor for a Scout.
  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset.
  Interment at Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, N.Y.
