Schmucker, 63, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lancaster, Nov. 10, 1987. Born in Greensburg, son of the late Frank A. and Rose (Nessler) Schmucker. Survived by wife of 39 years on Aug. 7, Phyllis (Franklin) Schmucker. Also survived by seven sons: David W. Schmucker, Washington D.C.; Paul F., Doylestown, Pa.; Robert A., Washington, D.C.; James F., Lancaster; Steven E., Lancaster; F. Matthew, Garland, Texas; and Daniel B., Laurel, Md.; two grandchildren and one brother, John R. Schmucker, Stoystown. Self-employed insurance broker for Schmucker Association in Lancaster for 35 years. Member of Million Dollar Round Table. Charter Life Underwriter (CLU). Member of Lancaster Life Underwriters Association. From 1972-74, director of Lancaster Chapter of the National Association of Life Underwriters, director of Pa. State Association NALU. From 1972-73, secretary/treasurer, 73-74, vice president and 74-75, president of Lancaster Chapter of the American Society of CLU. Member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Corporal in U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II; 82nd Air Engineering Squadron. Served in the South Pacific campaigns. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
