    John W. "Jake" Schmucker, 97, Jennerstown, died June 25, 2007, at The Patriot,
  Somerset. Born Feb. 19, 1910, in Boswell, son of Christ C. and Mae (Murray) Schmucker.
  Preceded in death by parents; first wife, the former Mildred Irene Berkey, July 3, 1959;
  daughters, Delores Garcia, Carol Bialas and May Belle Abbaszadeh; grandson, Joseph
  Bialas; brothers, Russel and Robert; and sisters, Eva, Edith, Bessie and Marian. Survived
  by, wife of 47 years, the former Verna Blough; daughters, Nancy Zimmerman, Ravenna, Ohio;
  Patricia, married to James Dundon, Lake Ariel; Charlene Stone, Jennerstown and Jonnie
  Kaye Schmucker, Ravenna; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great
  grandchildren. A 1929 graduate of former Boswell High School. Owner/operator of
  Schmucker's Nursery, Jennerstown, member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church,
  Jennerstown. Most mornings you would find Jake at Our Coal Miner's Cafe enjoying a cup of
  coffee with his friends. Jake will be sadly missed. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell. Viewing
  also from 10 until time of service 11 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Trinity Church. The Rev.
  Jacquelyn S. Ahern and the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. Interment Jennerstown
  Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given the Laurel Trinity Church,
  P.O. Box 185, Jennerstown, PA 15547.
