She was born in Maryland on Dec. 15, 1859, a daughter of John and Matilda (Smucker) Alexander. Mr. and Mrs. Schrock were residents of Meyersdale for many years. Her husband was an expert carpenter and millwright. During his younger years, when there were still many grist and saw mills operated by water power in Somerset County, Mr. Schrock specialized in building water wheels. After the death of her husband about 30 years ago, Mrs. Schrock made her home with relatives, Edward Schrock and family, near Stoystown. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Edward Schrock, Stoystown R.D. 1, where she had resided. Rev. H. W. Nowag, Johnstown, officiated. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, beside the grave of her deceased husband. Meyersdale Republican, January 24, 1946
