CATHERINE SCHROCK

  Mrs. Catherine Schrock died Sept. 28, 1943, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 
Freeman Handwerk, her nephew and niece, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township.  The cause 
of her death was heart disease.  She was aged 78 years, 4 months, and 21 days.
  She was a daughter of George and Hannah Haselbarth Haer.  Her husband, the 
late Samuel Schrock, died in 1931, in the trans-Meyersdale community where Mr. 
and Mrs. Schrock resided and where Mrs. Schrock continued to reside until three 
weeks before she died.  She was taken to the home where she died after her 
physical condition became serious.
  Mrs. Schrock was a member of the Center Lutheran Church, where the funeral 
services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Ellwood Stahl, 3:30 p.m., Thursday 
of last week.
  She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Susan Vought, residing in the Center 
Church Community.  Her next nearest surviving relative is Mrs. Freeman Handwerk, 
at whose home she died.
  Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, under the direction of 
Mortician Stanley M. Thomas of Salisbury.
