Born April 6, 1916, in Stonycreek Township, the daughter of Wesley George and Sadie (Platt) Walker. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Mahlon J. Schrock, who died April 7, 1993; brothers and sisters, Elsie Watkins, Grace Trent, Earl Walker, Verda Stoy, Richard Walker, Evelyn Schrock, Guy Walker and Roy Walker. Survived by her children, Carl E. Schrock, married to the Former Carol Coughenour, Somerset; Wayne D. Schrock, married to the former Nancy Brocht, Berlin; Mrs. Carl (Fay M.) Walker, Meyersdale; grandchildren, Ronald Schrock, Somerset; Ronda Kimmel and husband, Greg, Berlin; Rodney Schrock, Berlin; Robb Schrock, Florida; Betsy Stern and husband, Bob, Berlin; Patsy and husband, Dave Titus, Eldersburg, Md.; Kathy and husband, Dave Onstead, Berlin; Michael Walker and wife, Shelly, Meyersdale; and Brian Walker and wife, Heidi, Millersville. Also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. A 1934 graduate of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin and was a former member of the Hillcrest Grange. Ferne loved flowers and enjoyed gardening very much. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset and from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
