Schrock, Garrett RD, died suddenly Friday morning, Nov. 12, from a heart attack. The son of the late Hiram and Maggie Maust Schrock, he was born in Summit Township, September 12, 1886. He was a well-known and highly esteemed farmer and coal mine operator. For years he and his sons have delivered house coal. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Gnagey Schrock; two sons, Milton E. and Harry W. Schrock of Summit Township; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Schrock Martz and Mrs. Mildred Schrock Werner, four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Susan Schrock Fogle, Mrs. Ada Schrock Fogle, Garrett RD.; Mrs. Sadie Schrock Murray, Meyersdale; Mrs. Ethel Schrock Livengood, Pinto, Md. Two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 in Meyersdale Church of the Brethren with his pastor, the Rev. I. Clifford Paul officiating. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, under direction of W. C. Price & Son. Meyersdale Republican, November 18, 1948
