Schroyer, 66, of Jerome, died Nov. 14, 1973 in the VA Hospital, Altoona. Born Nov. 17, 1906 in Boynton, he was a son of the late Samuel L. and Henrietta Norris Schroyer. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Surviving are these brothers and sisters: Melvin Schroyer; Verna, wife of Ellsworth Shreffler; Roy; Alice, wife of Howard Rogers; and Miss Lois Schroyer, all of Jerome; James of Metro, Ohio; Earl of Cleveland, Ohio; and John W. of Indiana, Pa. He retired from the Army as a commissioned warrant officer with 21 years of service and also was retired from Bethlehem Steel Works of Johnstown. He was a member of American Legion Post 802 of Jerome and the Oldtimers Baseball Association of Somerset County. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon in the Nazarene Church in Jerome, with the Rev. Elwood Vandiver officiating. Interment in the Salisbury Cemetery.
