ÊÊ ÊHe was born August 26, 1965 in Frostburg, MD. Preceded in death by grandparents: Raymond and Virginia Schurg, George and Emma Housel, and William and Ruth Spiker; brothers: George Schurg and Michael Wilt. ÊÊ ÊA son of Richard and Rose (Housel) Schurg, Finzel MD, and Diana (Spiker) Schurg, Midland, MD. Also survived by his wife Carol ((McKnew) Schurg, and three daughters: Jennifer M., Shannon R., and Colleen E., all at home. ÊA brother of Donald Schurg and his wife Diane, Garrett; Tina wife of Ronald Sanner, Meyersdale; Kimberly wife of Ralph Drew, Midlothian, MD; Ken Wilt and his wife Brenda, Frostburg, MD; Connie Miller, Meyersdale; and Julie wife of Ed Walker, Meyersdale. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. ÊÊ ÊSPC Schurg was a member of the 243rd Engineer ESP of the Maryland National Guard in Cumberland, MD. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. Ed was a heavy equipment operator, and a big Dale Earnhart and Dale Earnhart Jr. fan. He loved hunting, tractor and truck pulling, and ATV riding. ÊÊ ÊFriends were received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale. Military Honors were accorded by the Maryland Army National Guard at 11 a.m. Monday at the Price Funeral Home, with Chaplain Colonel William Sean Lee and the Rev. Arlen Longanecker officiating. Interment and military graveside service followed at the Hostetler Church Cemetery, Greenville Twp. Ê Ê ÊÊÊ ÊÊÊ Memorials may be directed to his wife Carol and their children.
