She was the wife of Harry S. Schutte, who died in 1977, after 43 years in research and sales and as an executive with U.S. Steel Corporation. They had been long-time residents of Rosslyn Farms, a suburb of Pittsburgh, 1936-73. She was born in 1904 and raised in Somerset County, graduated from Somerset High School and attended Pennsylvania State University where she met and married Mr. Schutte in 1924. She was an elementary school teacher in Somerset County. During World War II she served with the AWVS in Pittsburgh and was an active volunteer with the South Side Hospital Auxiliary. She and her husband were former members of the Chartiers Country Club and of the Oro Valley Country Club. She was a long-time member of the Women's Club of Rosslyn Farms and active in their annual flower shows. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carnegie. She is survived by two sons: Harry S. Schutte Jr., of Bloomington, Minn.; and Charles S. Schutte of Prairie Village, Kan. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Memorial services were held in Tucson and interment was at Stoystown. The family suggested memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation, 4500 E.
