Christopher Schwing, 16, passed away at his home, Accident, RD 2, Md., April 1, 1983 following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 29, 1966 in Meyersdale, son of Melvin R. and Sally A. (Carr) Schwing. Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers: Franklin (Skip) Schwing, Atlanta, Ga.; David (Chip) Schwing and T. Scott Schwing, both of Pittsburgh; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Robert T. (Ruth E.) Carr, Fairview, W. Va. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of the Cove (L.C.A.). He was a student at Northern High School; member of the student council, ski club and the band. He belonged to the Campus Life Youth Ministry; Boy Scout Troop No. 82; the Garrett County Roadrunners Camping Club. One brother, Timothy, preceded him in death. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services were held Monday at the St. John's Lutheran Church of the Cove at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Carlson officiating. Interment, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christopher Schwing Memorial Fund of St. John's Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
