"Reach" 03/24/07 Daily American Richard R. "Reach" Sciotti, 91, Windber, passed away March 23, 2007, at Windber Medical Center. Born Sept. 24, 1915, in Windber, son of Valentino and Bernadine (Bonoma) Sciotti. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, William and Alpine Sciotti. Survived by wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (Lesko) Sciotti; son, Richard R. Sciotti, married to the former Sandra Kohler, Windber; and daughter, Barbara Lee Sciotti, Windber; grandson, Richard J. Sciotti, married to the former Tracie Laidman; granddaughter Christine (Sciotti), wife of Brian Reed; and great-grandchildren, Richard V. and Nicole R. Sciotti, and Connor E. and Sydney R. Reed. Also survived by brother, Arkule "A.J." Sciotti, Windber. Reach was a member of the Windber Rotary Club where he was the recipient of the Paul Harris Award for 50 years of perfect atten-dance. Also a lifetime member and past president of Windber Sportsman's Club, Windber Rifle Club, Windber Businessman's Association, Abruzzi Club and was on the board of directors at Windber Hospital and coordinator of Somerset/Cambria County inspection stations. He was a former employee of Whalley Ford in Windber and then went on to build his own business which operated under the name of Reach Sciotti Motors in Windber for 53 years. Reach was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an avid hunter. Member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, where Reach was a member of the Holy Name Society. Friends received 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. At the request of the family, please omit flowers. Instead, donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, Northern EMS or the Windber Public Library in Reach's memory.
