  BERTHA J. SEARS
  
    Bertha Jane Townsend Sears, 91, Maysville, WV, died Friday, Dec. 1,
  1989 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Sissonville, where she had
  been a resident since December 1981.
    Born April 23, 1898 in Meyersdale, she was the daughter of the late
  John and Mary (Jennings) Townsend.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Sears, Nov. 14,
  1977, and by two brothers and sisters.  She was the last surviving
  member of her immediate family.
    Surviving are two sons, John V. Sears, Piedmont, WV. and William H.
  Sears, Hambilton, Mont.; two daughters, Phyllis Nesslerodt, Maysville,
  WV.; and Lucille John, Pittsburgh; ten grandchildren; and a number of
  great grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg,
  where services were conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Paul D.
  Dye.  Interment, Maysville Cemetery.
