Born April 18, 1919, in Garrett. Daughter of Elmer and Grace (Weaver) Sechler. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Grace Laura Sechler and Edna Boyer, brothers Kenneth Elmer and Arthur Leroy "Buddy" Sechler, and a daughter, Barbara Jean Sleppy. Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Patricia Ann) Shaffer of Akron, Ohio; former husband, Eugene Saly, Johnstown; grandchildren: Gary Sleppy, married to the former Karen Martin; Mrs. Frank (Pam) Kolonich, Mrs. Glenn (Tammy) Smith and Douglas, all of Stoystown; Mark Shaffer and wife Treva and Mrs. Gaylord (Rhonda) Hildreth, both of Akron, Ohio, and great-grandchildren: Harold and Frank Kolonich, Lisa Marie Sleppy, G.R. and Nichole Smith, Nicholas Shaffer and Amanda Grace Hildreth. Retired after 20 years from Dorfman-Hoffman Sewing Factory, Boswell. Member of Kantner United Methodist Church and the ILGWU. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Jason McQueen.
