He was born October 12, 1926 in Upper Turkeyfoot Twp., the son of Charles E. and Alice T. (White) Sechler. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Richard and Leonard Sechler; and sister, Elva Wilson and husband, Park. He is survived by wife the former Nora Idaleene Trent to whom he was married for 57 years. Also survived by children: Ray Sechler married to the former Ann McCartney, Rockwood; Mrs. Sam (Cathy) Schmuch, Rockwood; Kenneth Sechler married to the former Sharon Smith, Shepherdstown, WV; Mrs. Barry (Diane) Bittner, Berlin; Wayne A. Sechler married to the former Vicki Coughenour, Somerset; and Mrs. Bob (Georgia) Harrold, Rockwood; 22 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Felicia Sechler, Confluence and Audrey Sechler, Indiana, PA. Guy was a 1945 graduate of Somerset High School. He declined an appointment to the United States Naval Academy to remain on the family farm near Markleton. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre. He and wife Nora purchased a dairy farm in Milford Twp. that he and his family operated until his retirement in 1991. He was the fifth generation to farm the Sechler Farm in Markleton. He also operated a School Bus Company for Rockwood School District from 1965-1991. He then transferred the business to family who formed Rockwood Transportation Inc. He also had a business selling fertilizer and farm equipment to Area Farmers, also a member of Laurel Hill Lions Club, PA Farmers Assn., and served with the Rockwood PTA, March of Dimes, a contributing member of the New Centerville Fire Dept. and attended New Centerville Church of God. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service at the church which was conducted 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2007 at New Centerville Church of God, New Centerville, with Reverend Timothy Show Officiating. Interment at New Centerville Union Cemetery.
