She was born Aug. 30, 1910, in Addison Township, a daughter of the late John W. and Emma (Davis) Turney. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband James Russell Sechler, who died March 3, 1994; brothers Chalmer, Lawrence and Floyd Turney and sisters Grace Dwire and Nina Heil. She is survived by daughter Marjorie Leonard and her husband Edward of Confluence, sons Jay Russell and his wife Alberta (Humbertson) Sechler of Confluence and Ted Ray and wife Janice (Burnworth) Sechler of Etters. Eight grandchildren: Michelle DeHaven and fiance Mario Graziani, Gretta Lytle and husband Michael, Patricia Conn and friend Ward Beals Jr., all of Confluence and Meyersdale. Janine Doman and husband Jeffrey of Rockwood, Kimberly Sechler Pickel and Kris Sechler, both of Etters, and grandsons R.J. Leonard, West Palm Beach, Fla. and Michael Sechler and wife Regina of Confluence, also seven great-grandchildren: Luke DeHaven and wife Heather of Latrobe, Malea Conn, Laura DeHaven and Michael Jordan Sechler, all of Confluence, Cory Doman of Rockwood, and Ashley and Rob Shettle of Etters and one great-great-granddaughter Sarah Gail DeHaven of Latrobe. She retired in 1974 from the Somerset State Hospital where she worked as a psychiatric aide and was a member of the Confluence Church of the Nazarene for 53 years from 1951 until her death. Friends will be received at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service. The Rev. Ronald Schaeffer officiating.
