Born May 11, 1917 in Newton Hamilton, Mifflin County. Son of Thomas Francis and Lura Sara (Keiser) Sechrist. Preceded in death by parents and two sisters: Bernadine Sechrist and Catherine E. "Betty" Myers. Survived by sister, Mrs. Josephine Davis, Glen Burnie, Md., and three nephews, Victor Davis, Gilbert, Ariz., Richard E. Davis, Berryville, Va., and P. Stanley Davis, Glen Burnie, Md. Also a great nephew and two great-nieces and two great-great-nieces. A 1936 graduate of Mt. Union High School. Retired in 1983 as an accountant for United States Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh. Member of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church of Somerset, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1801 of Somerset, and BPO Elks #577 of Wilkinsburg. No viewing or visitation. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, Father J. Mark Zimmerman officiating. Interment, Newton Hamilton Cemetery.
