Secrest, 88, of Rockwood, died April 30, Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 17, 1885, in Rockwood, a daughter of the late Hiram and Minerva Kuhs Hoover. Survived by two sons, Robert S. of Scottdale, and James, of Cleaveland; four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Kemp of Meyersdale, Mrs. Melba Bryner, Uniontown, Mrs. Zelda Moran, Des Moines and Mrs. Sara J. Neff, Miami; one brother, Robert Hoover, Council Bluffs, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Robert, in 1938; two daughters, Agnes Sechler in 1926, and an infant daughter, Zepha May, in 1910; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Ravenscraft and Mrs. May Uphold; and two brothers, Harold and Charles Hoover. Was a charter member, Rockwood United Church of Christ, and the Rebekah Lodge of Rockwood and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen Lodge. Friends will be received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, where services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery, with Rev. C.C. Moore officiating.
