Seggie, 45, a veteran of World War I and former resident of Meyersdale, died on Saturday, Oct. 21, at his home in Detroit, Mich. He was a son of John and Jennie (Cochran) Seggie, and was born in Meyersdale on March 24, 1899. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertie Porter Seggie; two daughters, Mrs. Emerson McCleary and Mary Seggie of Detroit; a step-son, Virgil Lowrey, Meyersdale; four brothers: William and John Seggie, Detroit; James Seggie, Morgantown, W.Va.; and Ronald Seggie, with the Army in Australia; two sisters: Mrs. Walter Davis, Detroit, and Mrs. Olin Tindell, Miami, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Nicholas Porter home, Meyersdale, by Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church. Interment was made in Union Cemetery under the direction of R. Reich and Son. Members of the Charles E. Kelly Post, American Legion, of Meyersdale, conducted the rites at the grave.
