Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Rockwood. Son of the late William Francis and Grace (Boyer) Sembower. Preceded in death by infant daughter; sister, Helen Clay, and brothers Maurice, Adam, Harold, Leonard, William Jr., Ray and John. Survived by his wife, Alverta (Bowers); daughter Wanda, wife of Terry Kuehn, Monroeville; son Brian and future daughter-in-law Heidi, Somerset. Three grandchildren: Darren, Kelly and Shane Kuehn; one sister, Sara Mullaney, Cumberland, Md., and brothers Maynard of Rockwood and Robert Sr., Somerset. Member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren. Veteran of World War II. Member of Somerset American Legion Post 181, Somerset Lodge 358, F&AM; Harrisburg Consistory, Somerset Oldtimers Baseball Association and Greenleaf Hunting Club. An avid golfer. Retired from the former IXL Creamery and Briggs Corp. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Roger L. Forry officiating. Interment, IOOF Cemetery, Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Somerset Church of the Brethren. Somerset Lodge 358, F&AM, will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
